Trick of the Light

Trick of the Light is an award-winning theatre company from Te Whanganui-a-Tara, founded by Hannah Smith and Ralph McCubbin Howell. Since 2011 the company has made and toured original work around Aotearoa and the world. Their work often has an environmental angle, and they prioritise green practice as part of their kaupapa. In recent years, they have contributed to Arts on Tour’s Green Touring Toolkit (Australia) and been mentored on sustainable touring by Sustainability-lab.eu. Find out more at trickofthelight.co.nz

Playmarket

Playmarket is a not-for-profit service organisation for playwrights and theatremakers and is a key advocate for the continued growth of theatre in Aotearoa. It is a Toi Tōtara Haemata arts leadership organisation funded by Creative New Zealand. Playmarket’s services include circulating and licensing clients’ scripts to producers and theatres in Aotearoa and internationally; promoting writing development and competitions; and publishing informative e-bulletins, an annual theatre review, and volumes of plays, as well as industry guidelines. Playmarket also has a bookshop that sells a comprehensive range of New Zealand plays.

Performing Arts Network New Zealand (PANNZ) / Tour-Makers

Founded in 2015, Tour-Makers is PANNZ's National Touring Agency, which supports the touring of professional Aotearoa theatre, music, and dance and is a key initiative working toward a sustainable touring network in New Zealand. Their initial focus is on managing and supporting medium to large-scale national tours and delivering a minimum of two tours a year that include at least 3–4 centres.

Arts on Tour (Australia)

Arts on Tour is one of Australia’s most prolific performing arts touring service organisations. Their overarching purpose is to sustainably bring culturally distinctive and resonant arts experiences to audiences and communities across the country, and to deliver a programme of events and initiatives that build the sector’s touring capacity and lead on best practice. Responding to the climate crisis and reducing touring emissions is a major focus: with wide-ranging sector input, Arts on Tour led the development of the award-winning Green Touring Toolkit (Australia). Arts on Tour receives funding from Create NSW.
